BROW SHAPING
What You Need to Know
Brow Waxing & Shaping
Brow waxing and shaping is a foundational maintenance service designed to keep your brows clean, defined, and well-groomed. Using a combination of soft wax and precision tweezing, this service removes unwanted hair from around the brow area and refines the shape to complement your natural features.
This service is perfect for:
-
Clients maintaining their brow shape between lamination appointments
-
Those who simply want a clean, tidy brow without a chemical treatment
What Brow Waxing Is — and What It Isn't
It's important to set the right expectations before booking. Brow waxing and shaping is a cleanup and maintenance service, it works with the brow hairs you already have, removing what doesn't belong and refining what does. While the result is a cleaner, more polished brow, this service does not dramatically alter the appearance of your brows beyond that.
Brow waxing alone will not create the fuller, lifted, or more structured look that brow lamination achieves. Lamination works by restructuring and setting the brow hairs upward and into place, creating the illusion of thickness and volume. Waxing simply shapes and cleans, it does not change the direction, texture, or density of your brow hairs.
If your goal is visibly fuller, more defined brows with a lifted finish, brow lamination may be the better service for you. If you're happy with your brow density and simply want to keep them neat and shaped, brow waxing is exactly what you need.

Before Your Brow Wax — What to Avoid
To ensure a safe, comfortable, and effective waxing experience, please review the following guidelines before your appointment. Certain products, treatments, and medications can affect the skin's sensitivity and integrity, making waxing unsafe or uncomfortable.
Skincare Products & Topicals
-
Discontinue use of retinol, retinoids, or tretinoin at least 5–7 days before your appointment, these products thin the skin and significantly increase the risk of lifting or tearing
-
Avoid AHAs (glycolic acid, lactic acid) and BHAs (salicylic acid) on or around the brow area for at least 48–72 hours prior
-
Do not apply benzoyl peroxide or any acne treatment creams near the brow area before your appointment
-
Avoid applying any numbing creams, serums, or heavy oils directly on the brows on the day of your service
Medications
-
If you are currently taking Accutane (isotretinoin), waxing is not recommended, this medication severely thins the skin and waxing can cause serious skin damage
-
Blood thinners and certain antibiotics can increase skin sensitivity, please consult your physician if you are unsure
Treatments & Procedures
-
Avoid chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or laser treatments at least 2 weeks before your appointment
-
Do not have Botox or dermal fillers injected near the brow area within 2 weeks of your wax
-
Avoid prolonged sun exposure or tanning beds for at least 48 hours before your appointment, sunburned or freshly tanned skin is too sensitive for waxing
On the Day of Your Appointment
-
Avoid working out directly before your appointment, heat and sweat can make the skin more sensitive and reactive
-
Stay hydrated and avoid caffeine in excess before your service, as this can heighten skin sensitivity
If you are unsure whether any of your current products or medications may affect your waxing service, please don't hesitate to reach out before booking. Your comfort and safety are always our top priority.
